LGC Wireless Announces InterReach Fusion Wideband Product to Enhance In-Building Wireless Coverage in European Market

In-Building System designed to support multiple bands and operators in a single system to maximise available coverage for users.

SAN JOSE, CALIF., 10 July, 2007—LGC Wireless, the leader in advanced in-building wireless systems, today announced that it has launched a new version of the InterReach Fusion® product specifically to meet the needs of international markets, particularly Europe. The new wideband Fusion system will provide European service providers with the capability to provide multiple band and frequency services over the same in-building wireless system. LGC’s new Fusion product supports both DCS 1800 and UMTS 2100, the frequencies most commonly needed in-building, and provides full bandwidth for both bands. This means that all operators in a region can be supported by the system, using a single set of electronics and cabling. Alternatively, an operator which has both DCS and UMTS frequencies can use the system to support their services. Fusion also offers best in class RF performance and each band supported has dedicated capacity and alarming.

The new wideband Fusion product has already been deployed in France in a main warehouse facility of the Leclerc supermarket chain, a site of 52 thousand square metres spread across six levels. The new system consists of Fusion wideband DCS/UMTS with three main hubs, nine expansion hubs and 66 RAUs with 66 antennas. The system was installed by First Line Telecom, LGC’s European integration partner.

Speaking about the announcement, Ian Sugarbroad, CEO of LGC Wireless, said: “We already offer the best in-building wireless solutions available on the market. With the launch of our wideband Fusion product we can now offer our customers in Europe and other international markets the ability to offer in-building wireless services to a greater number of users, thereby increasing their service capability and revenue generation opportunities from these.”
