LGC Wireless Bolsters Global Market Presence with Key
Appointments in Asia-Pacific and Saudi Arabia
New APAC Regional Director, Saudi Arabia Country Manager to Build On
Recent Successes with Commercial, Hospitality, Public Agency
Deployments
SAN JOSE, CA, September 24, 2007—LGC
Wireless, the leading supplier of
In-Building
Wireless solutions and specialized
Network Systems to the Fortune 500, is moving to extend its
market momentum from recent regional deployments in the Asia-Pacific
and Middle East regions by naming two new key executives. LGC has
named Shalini Raghu as Sales Director for the company’s Australia,
Pacific Island, and South East Asia Region, and it has tapped
Farrukh Mohammed as the Country Manager for the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. These appointments will further strengthen LGC Wireless’
presence in two international regions where it has won significant
deployments during the past year.
“Shalini and Farrukh are important additions to our international
management team,” said Ian Sugarbroad, president and CEO of LGC
Wireless. “We have seen rapidly-growing sales activity in the
Asia-Pac and Middle Eastern regions, and these executives will help
us extend our recent wins into an even stronger market presence.”
In the APAC region, LGC Wireless has recently outfitted Sydney
Airport as well as Australia’s three major cricket stadiums with
in-building coverage based on its
InterReach Unison® and
InterReach Fusion® products. In addition, LGC’s systems have
also been deployed in the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia;
a dozen or more business and residential “mansions” in China
(averaging 20 floors); and several significant deployments in Japan
(including Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, Osaka’s Kansai
International Airport, and Tokyo’s Imperial Hotel).
As Sales Director for the region, Shalini Raghu will pursue new
market opportunities based on these recent successes. Raghu has more
than ten years’ experience in the telecommunications industry in
product management and technical pre-sales positions for wireless as
well as fixed line technologies. Prior to joining LGC, she was
instrumental in the setting up an expansion of Huawei Technologies’
business and operations in the Australian and Pacific Island Region.
Previously, she provided pre-sales strategic support for Huawei’s
high-growth Asia Pacific regional operators spanning 12 countries,
and was involved in access networks product management for Fujitsu
Telecommunications in Japan, England and Malaysia. Shalini holds a
Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering from University of Malaya and a
Masters’ in Telecommunications from Multimedia University.
Recent Middle Eastern deployments include the Jamrat Bridge in
Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the seven-star Emirates Palace Hotel in Dubai,
and the ultra-luxury Burj Al Arab and Jumeira Beach hotels in Dubai.
As the new Country Manager for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Farroukh
Mohammed will drive the sales and deployment of new LGC Wireless
in-building cellular systems as the Arabian Peninsula building boom
continues.
Farrukh most recently worked for Nokia as the In-Building Manager
for the rollout of Du Networks in Dubai. Previously, Farrukh held
positions with Motorola and Mikom (now Commscope) and worked for a
mobile operator in his native India. Farrukh has a Bachelor of
Science degree in Information Services.
